Following the second refusal by Mendip District Council in July 2022, the Bristol-based developer lodged an appeal with the Planning Inspectorate.
However, this week the Planning Inspectorate wrote to residents informing them Anesco had withdrawn its appeal, leading to the cancellation of a planned public inquiry.
Now Mr Cole has taken the decision to the Planning Inspectorate – which will decide it the design is appropriate for the town centre.
